Dafney Tales-Lafortune hails from Brockton, Massachusetts, where she grew up the youngest and only daughter of Haitian immigrants. She studied journalism in Philadelphia and enjoyed an award-winning career in the field before making the switch to sales and events. In 2015, with her husband, she founded the first Haitian catering company in the Triangle, which grew into a popular food truck. Since then, she has launched a successful food festival and was behind introducing Trevor Noah to Haitian cuisine for the first time.
Andre Lafortune was born and raised in Belair, Haiti, the youngest of 11 children. He was raised in a one-bedroom house with his mother and two of his older brothers, where he fell in love with the complexity of cooking Haitian cuisine. He emigrated to the states in 2000, and earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Instead of pursuing that path, he chose to follow his true passion - cooking and entrepreneurship. With his wide, he has helped put Haitian food on the map in the Triangle.
